NSIS Project (Erasmus+)

The NSIS Project is an Erasmus+ capacity-building initiative designed to strengthen the role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal in supporting research, business, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

The project focuses on enhancing the competencies and professional skills of Library and Information Specialist (IS) staff, enabling universities to deliver relevant, targeted, and high-quality information services to researchers, enterprises, and local innovation ecosystems. Through the development of digital, transferable, and lifelong learning skills, NSIS supports the alignment of higher education services with the evolving needs of society and the economy.

At the core of the NSIS Project is the development of a modular, practice-oriented curriculum aimed at modernising information services and strengthening university engagement with business and research communities across the region.

Mid-West University, Nepal, is one of the implementing partner institutions of the NSIS Project. The University is actively engaged in project activities related to capacity building, curriculum development, institutional strengthening, and national day celebration, contributing to the effective implementation and regional impact of the project in Nepal.
